I'm a developer and SAAS founder.
The Internet is a dangerous place and more people should use VPNs to help improve their security and privacy. But trusting a VPN provider isn't much different than trusting your ISP not to spy on you. Ideally, you'd be able to setup your own VPN on a remote server and manage it yourself. Confident in the fact that your browsing wasn't being snooped on. While there are some open source apps that can assist with this they require a sysadmin/developer level of expertise that not everyone has (SSH'ing, compiling, etc.) Through clever use of APIs and rigorous UX practices, I want to file down the sharp corners of the process of VPN setup so that a privacy-minded individual can reasonably get their own VPN going in a matter of minutes.
